GSP Team Training

The GSP team training program is designed to help YOU as a coach better serve your players. We realize not every school or team has a dedicated strength and throwing coach, so let us help. At GSP, we take an individualized approach to each player and design a plan that works best for your team’s practice and game schedule. As a coach, there are a lot of responsibilities you have day in and day out. We want to help you by creating a plan that will help your players develop into their full potential.

Program Details

We offer a 6-month and 12-month program option. The longer the commitment, the more opportunity there is for development.

There are three program options:

  • Weight Training and Conditioning Program

  • Throwing Program (Pitchers and Position Players)

  • Complete Program (Weight Training/Conditioning and Throwing)

Each team will begin with an initial movement assessment of each player that will be videoed and sent back to GSP. This part is critical for us to determine what your movement deficiencies are and how to better serve you in your training program. We cannot move forward with the program until this portion is completed. It is recommended multiple coaches help run the assessment to be more time efficient.

Once the assessment has been completed and we have discussed what your team goals are, we will then go forward with developing your program. Every 4-weeks you will receive a new phase of workouts.

Along with your program, you will also be sent a how to video for every exercise and drill you will perform. There will be unlimited email and phone support should you have any questions on how to perform anything in the program. Also, there will be a weekly phone call to review the week. It is highly recommended you send video of your players performing the exercises drills for feedback on mechanical changes to make.

Equipment Needed (Not Required, But Recommended)

Throwing:

  • Jaeger Bands

  • Shoulder Tube (Optional)

  • Mini Trampoline

  • PlyoCare Balls (2lb., 1 lb., 7.5oz., 5.3oz., 3.5oz.)

  • Weighted Baseballs (7oz., 6oz., 4oz., 3oz.)

  • Radar Gun (Optional, but highly recommended to at least have access to one)

Weight Training:

  • Barbell and Plates

  • Trap Bar

  • Dumbbells

  • Squat Rack

  • Bands

  • Medicine Balls

  • Bench

Overview of Program

  • Phone call about your team and goals.

  • Initial movement assessment (videoed and sent back to GSP).

  • First phase of program is created (each phase lasts 4-weeks).

  • Video database of every throwing drill and exercise.

  • Payments are made monthly, prior to the next phase.

  • Mechanical analysis is provided for any drill work or throwing.

  • Weekly phone calls. Unlimited phone and email support.
